I hope it will be back. Maybe they can work out royalties or streaming or something ... I guess the law in the USA makes it so that streaming audio has to be like radio, as in the user can't know what song is coming next or have the control over what song they are listening to, which kinda defeats the mixtape purpose. So we will see, I guess.

Thank you Charles - now I can safely say that PDL fans will at least find a review. Your selflessness is greatly appreciated.

Hahaha, no, really, that was an excellent post. Bravo. Five points for the X-Ray Spex reference (you are apparently one of the few who have not forgotten about them yet).

Here is a review for your blog of what Pony Da Look's "Shattered Dimensions" sounds like:
You walk into a pub lit by torchlight and candles, and decorated with electronics from a surplus store. Somebody is slamming rhythmically on a jukebox, causing it to skip back and forth through distorted segments of some of Martin Gore's earlier compositions for Depeche Mode. While this insistent sound fills the air, a bar-room brawl erupts between Loreena McKennitt and X-Ray Spex, who chant taunts at each other from either side of the room, as the tables are cleared aside and the other patrons stamp their bony feet as they begin the first of the many frenzied dances…

A lot of people are sure gobsmacked by this action against muxtape. It'll be back though, I;ll bet. Can't hold a good site down.

I'm going to take full credit for forcing those Aesop Rock and Buck 65 albums on you. :P

Expect a lot of baking being done to Aesop Rock, haha. His earlier stuff is awesome as well, though I prefer his more recent production.

Bill P, I'm just returning to this entry now and somehow it seems the comment I posted ended up somewhere in the Internet wasteland. My apologies for totally ignoring you! I've heard the same about "All I Am," and I can certainly see how that would apply. Usually that kind of commentary is an Andrew specialty, but whatever it is, it ended up in a pretty solid song.

"Living the Dream" actually would make a great closer, now that you say that! The jury's still out on "Too Many" at the end ... I think it's a little too open-ended for me to close a record with, but I ain't Sloan.

Tob, I'm with you; I like that 60s vibe Chris has going, but Jay's songwriting lately has got him further and further along that hunt for the elusive "perfect pop song". Definitely a great record.

I see you have linked Les Veterans as your webpage. Parlez-vous français? Je l'ai étudié pendant six ans à l'école.

totally agrre with you mate. Jay is on a great streak and Andrew's songs are solid. Except for the opener, Pat is quiet and Chris still has those 60's mood songs which fits with him a lot but thye're far from Jay's perfect poppy songs. best album since One Chord To Another ( though Money City Maniacs was fucking amazing too)

Oh man oh man, do you have their first album (S/T)? I still can't get enough of it. So awesome. It's a little bit like if you played a Jam LP at 45 rpm instead of 33 1/3 but at the same time not really, so forget I said that.
